REPEAT PRESCIPTIONS
With your doctors agreement you may obtain repeat prescriptions with a repeat prescription card. When your medication is put on repeat a re order form will be issued to you with your prescriptions. When you require more medication you should tick the items you need on the form and bring or send it to us. Requests for medication not on your reorder slip must be made in writing for reasons of accuracy. We do not take requests by phone but faxed requests are accepted. There is also the facility on our website to order your prescriptions. Prescriptions are normally available 2 working days after they reach the surgery, whichever method you use to order them. However should you wish to use the collection service offered by the local chemists or send a stamped addressed envelope for your prescription then extra time will need to be allowed.
CONFIDENTIALITY
All patient data is treated with confidentiality by all members of the practice team. It may be disclosed to other health care professionals where this is deemed to be in the patients’ interest but this would not be done without the doctors’ permission. The practice is registered under the Data Protection Act.
Doctors in Training
This practice is accredited to train GP Registrars, who are doctors who have decided to become general practitioners, and who then work as a GP Registrar in general practice for a year. These doctors are fully qualified and have extensive hospital work experience but are learning the specifics of General Practice. Dr Panchaud is responsible for training the GP Registrars.
The GP Registrars may need to video their consultations for teaching purposes. In this case, the tape will only be watched by the GP Registrar and his or her trainer, your written permission will be required. On occasion we will consult with two doctors together and this is usually when we are doing an assessment of the GP Registrar.
The practice also contributes to the training of medical students or school students on work experience. Sometimes you may be asked if you object to a student "sitting in" with your doctor. You are quite entitled to decline, but your co-operation would be appreciated.
The practice also contributes to the training of community Nursing staff, student nurses and Paramedics gaining community experience.
